Need help deciding on a motherboard.

Thread Starter
With all those motherboards out there, I am just completely lost.
I was thinking about getting a GigabyteDS3 but then I was reading about it having an affect on a Raid0. I'll be using a Xeon3060 for my processor, so I know I'll have to get a LGA775 motherboard. (Also, what is the best motherboard for those Conroes?)

I'll be using two WD Caviars 80GB@7200 for Raid0, and I'm not planning to overclock the processor (since I have no clue on how and I'm not sure if I'm willing to grab a heatsink for the CPU). For RAM, I'm thinking of getting a Corsair 1GB (2 x 512MB). I haven't decided on a video card yet, though I'm looking at the 200-300 range. Leaning on a X1950XT though.

I may turn it into a gaming machine if I manage to sqeeuze in more ram (probably another Corsair), but that's all I can list down for now.

Thanks in advance.

Please can you Fill in your system specs in the UserCP at the top of this page.

Well the Gigabyte has been given the title of best Budget Overclocker and generally is an all around Nice motherboard. However i would also Consider the P5B DELUXE for such a Rig.

First off, why xeon, only do that if your building a server my friend. They are made for servers and the slight differences will become noticable if using this for a pc.

Xeons can work on any board that a C2D can work on.

Go for a Biostar TForce 965PT (Flash to Deluxe) if you want cheap, Asus P5B Deluxe if price isn't a problem, or any 680i board if there really is no problem with money.

No there isn't. Look it up instead of repeating what everyone thinks.
