Though with US Cellular I get pretty good 4G connection most everywhere in southern WI so far. And northern IL. Though I bet most of the mid west is pretty good.
Speed isn't that bad, but would be nice to have better latency and speed. Though DSL speeds arn't bad for 4G.

Yep. I wish too, maybe that will stop that $80/month stagnation.

Sweet! Leave the 3g for calls though. 5g LTE would be awesome, I no longer would need for home internet. I can already play multiplayer with the 4g I have, low ping and 1.0 Mbps most of the time.Give it to Sprint first, seeing that there the only carrier actually upgrading their towers (3g and 4g).

Ultra high frequency bands have almost no penetration.

I'd much rather have a slower connection that didn't drop off any time I went behind a brick wall.

Same, I am using a Samsung flip phone still, 10 cents a minute for phone calls, 200 texts run me $4.99 a month through ATT and don't have to charge my phone but once every two weeks, truly a MOBILE phone... smile.gif

Your use of the word mobile isn't that good

The mobile industry is totally pathetic. A bunch of big corporations that have either poor service or charge way more than they are worth only because they can. Until that changes, the mobile industry has no reason to move forward. Lack of (serious) competition pushing the industry forward.

How about we actually get 4g working right instead? Tmobiles 4g is horrible in my area, according to their reps 1-3 mbps is right where it should be.

Faster internet so you can hit that data cap in half the time! Carriers will be on this ASAP!

In fact, i could also move south of where i am and get better speeds.....
There is also NO decent mobile data coverage here, but there is plenty in town.
Personally, i would rather use a land-line connection over a mobile one, but i would definitely benefit from a faster mobile connection here instead of this (well, if it weren't for data caps that is.......)

I perfectly understand how important it is.
But proper wireless infrastructure -just like wired- is expensive and needs a decent client base for it to payback itself. Profit is another story altogether.

Without subsidies they won't bother.
Subsidies are usually over the top expensive and right wing-gers would claim it unfair for the tax paying majority.

If you try to argue in favor of a guaranteed minimum level of service in anything, you are pretty much a dangerous socialist and the conversation is done.

Long story short, if it wasn't for the laws of diffusion of innovation, you would be stuck with dial up.

Energy, transportation, health, communications & army cannot serve democracy obeying free market laws.
