Something to note, i ordered my PSU from an English store but got a US 2Pin adaptor. This could be just a glitch or something as it seems to have a hole for a 3rd pin but this was not included. Not sure if it was a mistake or what. Just got mine, seems solid. The connections on the PSU lighting up is a nice touch - even if it is useless inside my case

No mistake...That's not a US, but a European plug.
The hole is for the round male pin permanently mounted in the socket. (earthing)

Just pick up a UK/EU adapter in any hardware store and you're sorted. thumb.gif

Personally, i think they should be including UK 3 pin adaptors for ones sold in the UK. It makes no sense what so ever and seems a bit on the lazy and cheap side not to include them. Currently using the adaptor from my previous PSU for now.

Though the PSU itself is nice, Not so bothered that i got a black one now that my case has changed to the Air 540 so the PSU isnt even seen.

although you may need to have a plug change to be able to use it, you do not need a 3rd pin if it does not come with one, as the third pin would do nothing as it is connected to nothing in the unit

at least in the us there is a plug that will convert 2-3 as some older plugs do not have a ground as it is really just another neutral in 99% of buildings i do not know how other countries electrical work though so it may be different in other countries

The one i got does NOT work in UK plug sockets, i would need an adaptor. That is simply unacceptable for a device sold IN the country to come with a socket that does not work in the country that it has been sold...

What site did you buy the PSU from ?
They're most likely re-selling stock that was intended for e.g. Germany/France (based on the plug type)
That's the only explanation I can come up with.
I did have a look at the reviews on overclockers.co.uk but no one mentioned anything about the plug.
I do agree with you. Paying that amont of money, you'd expect to get the right one.

even the matte black one looks sick. i want a leadex gold but they dont sell white version for it. they dont have platinum where i live.

i gotta ask a question for you guys PSU master here... before i built my first PC a couple weeks ago, when i googled about what PSU to pick to power the vga card i'd like to buy.. sometimes i found answers like this...
Quote:
""For a system using a single AMD Reference Design Radeon R9 270X graphics card AMD specifies a minimum of a 500 Watt or greater system power supply. The power supply should also have a maximum combined +12 Volt continuous current rating of 30 Amps or greater and have at least two 6-pin PCI Express supplementary power connectors.""

my question is... which part of the box or PSU i should look at for me to know whether my PSU is single rail or not, and which amperage should i look at to know whether my PSU have ratings of more than 30 amps or not...?

2) if the brick-and-mortar stores where i buy PC parts doesn't let buyers look at the box before buying, where can i find the amperage and minimum watt description on the internet? is there a website that have data for modern vga cards amperage wattage requirement?
(because i've tried to look at my r9 270x product page and i couldnt find the amperage wattage requirement there)

3) my PCI-e cable from the Super flower golden silent looks like this...
"how to build a PC" videos on youtube doesn't really cover PCI-e cables with branching 2 x 6+2 pins connector like the one i have.
my question is.. if i use cards with 2 x 6 pin connectors like r9 270x or 6 pin + 8 pin connectors like r9 280x, can i just use one cable and plug in both branches?
or do i need to use 2 PCI-e cables?

my PSU comes with two

cheers,,,,
