I thought Jaguar was supposed to clock higher than bobcat with equal power consumption?

Not really much to go on. Can't really draw any conclusions based on that information.

Excuse me... What did you expect?

Bobcat is only Dual Core and A6-1450 Jaguar/Kabini is Quad Core and also has considerably stronger/superior GPU compared to Bobcat top of the line Dual Core CPU.

Wait for reviews of Dual Core then we will talk about power consumption and others thing.. smile.gif

You can't compare Quad to Dual Core.

15W TDP quadcore x86 with a non-anemic Radeon GPU? This is a success in my book!

Let's compare two APU models, to be a bit clearer what is it all about. Jaguar CPU(Kabini/Temash APU) has approximately 15% higher IPC compared to the old Bobcat APU. wink.gif

AMD Bobcat APU E-350/40nm Chip/ 1,6ghz Dual Core/ 18W TDP

vs

AMD Kabini APU A4-5000/28nm Chip/1.5ghz Quad Core/ 15W TDP

Jaguar is substantial leap over Bobcat overall and here is my rough estimation:

A6-1450 Jaguar/Kabini 28nm 1.0/1.4Ghz Quad Core
- Cinebench 11.5 CPU: 0.85-0.90/1.23-1.30 (1.7-1.8 at 2Ghz)
- Cinebench 11.5 GPU: 8.53/10.55 (1/4 above Intel HD 3000)

As a Dual Core would score in Cinebench 11.5
- CPU: 0.425-0.45(1.0Ghz) = 0.615-0.650(1.4Ghz)
- GPU: 1/5 weaker or same as Intel HD 3000?!

At 2Ghz it would score in Cinebench 11.5 CPU test
0.85-0.90

Other comparable CPU/APU's:

E-450 Bobcat 40nm 1.6Ghz Dual Core
- Cinebench 11.5 CPU: 0.64 (0.70-0.74 at 2Ghz)
- Cinebench 11.5 GPU: 1/3 of Intel HD 3000

Atom D2700 32nm Clovertrail 2.13Ghz w/ HT Dual Core
- Cinebench 11.5 CPU: 0.71 (0.69 at 2Ghz)
- Cinebench 11.5 GPU: 1/4 of E-450 GPU

Atom Bay Trail 22nm 2.13Ghz w/ HT Dual Core (estimation)
- Cinebench 11.5 CPU: 1.42 (1.40 at 2.0Ghz)?!
- Cinebench 11.5 GPU: 1/4 of Intel HD 3000 or 1/2 of E-450 GPU?!

Atom Bay Trail 22nm 2.13Ghz w/ HT Quad Core (estimation)
- Cinebench 11.5 CPU: 2.84 (2.80 at 2.0Ghz)?!
- Cinebench 11.5 GPU: 1/2 of Intel HD 3000?!

Anyone at least partially agreeing? poke.gif

looks good, hopefully we can see some tablets with this.

You most likely will see it since its indeed a CPU for tablets, you could play Counter Strike: Global Offensive at 720pLow45fps or Crysis 2 at 720pLow30fps. Look at videos with i3 Sandy Bridge CPU that has Intel HD 3000 graphics to see results then add 10-20% in frames and that you can sorta expect from A6-1450 GPU 8280G.
