BF3 does not have an in-game benchmark, so results can vary from map to map or even from one scenario to another.

I run it at 2x MSAA and stay above 60 FPS in every map. I'm sure I could do 4x but the difference in quality is negligible and it would probably have slight dips below 60 here and there I imagine.

This is an old benchmark from December using reference 660ti clocks. It's either 4x MSAA or 8x, can't remember which. With just the stock SC settings it should be quite a bit better and with my OC it shouldn't have trouble at all.

I dont think he was saying to the OP to get the 660ti but to anyone who does have access to newegg and, like me, is interested in the 660ti vs 7950 and wanted a good deal, than he succeeded. a 660ti for less than 200 (just about) where one of the cheapest 7950's is 289.99 less a rebate.

That's why the first words in my post were "While this won't be of use to OP due to his location". Perhaps it is you who ought to be more careful when reading...

Regardless, since I'm sure that some people Stateside are likely to read this topic, I thought it appropriate to add that info for them.

OP go with the HIS HD 7950 Iceq x2 boost. its one of the best HD 7950 cards. also HD 7950 boost is on par with GTX 670. at average OC of 1150 mhz HD 7950 will compete well against GTX 670 at 1250 mhz. the GTX 660 Ti has no chance.

Yeah some actual gameeee benchmarks with the latest drivers with the two cards at the exact same settings would get great!

Maybe we should setup like an official benchmark thread on OCN, one for every card at every price point competing with the other company's offering at the same price point. (GTX 660 Ti vs 7950, GTX 670 vs 7970). thumb.gif

EDIT:

Guys I know the 7950 is a better card, I just need to know by how much, with the latest drivers from both AMD and Nvidia.

fyi HD 7950 needs 50 mhz higher clocks to match HD 7970. so HD 7950(1100 Mhz) is on par with HD 7970 Ghz(1050 mhz). HD 7950 boost will be 10 - 15% faster than GTX 660 Ti at stock. once overclocked the gap will widen.

Would the power consumption really make a big difference between the two? Where I live its about $0.14 per killowat hour, can someone tell me how much more I'm going to pay for if I get a 7950 instead over a GTX 660 Ti?

Or would it be irrelevant?

How much would a GTX 660 Ti and a 7950 overclocked pull out of the wall?

I'm planning on using a Seasonic X-560 Gold or a Seasonic Platinum 660W PSU, any help at all would be great appreciated!

+rep to everyone, thanks alot!
