DC II V2 is supposed to have fixed quite a few problems with the earlier version. also i think ASUS cards are voltage locked. check with others.

7950 may be not. I remember most 7950 users can increase voltage!? 'ım not sure for now. But 7970 cards voltage locked (except reference design)

I want to get an Asus card but i dont know which one to go for. I was more going towards the 7950.

I was actually reading your thread few days ago, btw its very informative thank you. But i think its going to be luck of a draw if i do get a 7970 card that is reference design.

Both of my 7950 TOP DCII V2 are voltage unlocked and they have been bought this year (second one about month ago).

I went with asus 7970, 7950 is out of stock and removed from newegg site. Kind of sucks

I own the V2 and using MSI Afterburner you can far exceed the Catalyst Overdrive overclocks. Will post my overclocks
