I'm interested in seeing any non-RAID comparisons of this, the prior version (12.6?), and the MS Windows default driver.... Reason being that I actually saw a decent DECREASE in my 830 256GB performance across the board, with the 12.6, compared to the default/stock/MS driver. I have no idea why, but that's what happened.
Also, with the 12.6, I had issues with (non-RAID) hard drives dropping out, especially my "Programs" drive. I'd boot, and most of the icons on my desktop would be that annoying white square with the little blue-topped "window" inside, indicating broken links. Every time this happened, I just needed to reboot and I'd get the drive back, but it was a huge PITA.
Over the past month or so, with the 12.6 gone and using the Windows default driver, I have never once had a single drive drop out/"disappear", my 830's speeds are higher and much more consistent, and I have less issues with stuttering/lagging in games (games almost all run off of one of my HDD's, specifically my WD10EZEX that's in this rig, as it's fast as heck and only 1-3s behind the SSD for loads). The ONLY thing that I've seen that indicates the 12.6.xxxx drivers are superior is that Windows itself now feels not quite so "snappy", and while that could be any number of things, it changed immediately upon switching back to the MS driver. Also, I do regular manual "performance optimizations" on my 830 (basically forcing Garbage Collection routine), my disks are kept below 0.5% fragmentation (all files are contiguous on disk, and sorted from most-frequently-used to least starting at the outside of the disk and moving in; thus, BF3, for example, which I've been playing a lot lately, is only ~500MB from the edge of the disk before it starts, resulting in load speeds of ~175-208MB/sec), drives are arranged so that any programs I would be using at the same time are on different disks (one is for OS/few programs, one is for programs, one is for games, one is for music/pictures/video, one is for "scratch disk" usage/current projects, one is for backups & browser/Windows/everything-else cache & RAM Disk dumps), and so forth.
ALL disks are error free, and SMART is showing very healthy drives. Temps on the HDD's range from 25-29C right now, never exceed 35C.

I can't figure out why this driver would perform so much worse for me?

Here's some screenshots of my SSD's current status:

Yeah, the 12.6.0.1033 driver was pulled off of Intel's site due to bad results with RAID setups.

I just tried 12.7.0.1036 and guess what?

BSOD on boot and could not roll back my other driver because system protection was off and i hadn't made a system image since last reinstall.

So...now my OS is screwed. *sigh*

Just re-imaged the drive from a clean install image and going to update to 12.6.0.1033 and leave it at that.

*note to self, only use drivers that are marked as official on station driver. WHQL means nothing.

Edit: And my RAID array got broken from this crap. Good thing this thread got me all my data back: http://www.overclock.net/t/478557/howto-recover-intel-raid-non-member-disk-error

well the latest version seems too slow compared to the one included in the CD driver package of my board. I think it now taking more than 20 seconds to fully load my windows.
