Where is my bottleneck?

To cut straight to the point,

I am running my sig rig 'positive pressure' with a R7970 Black Edition, i5 2500k at 4.8GHz and 8GB of G.Skill Ripjaws. Somewhere I think I have a bottleneck and I am hoping you guys can help me identify the exact issue.

I at first thought my HDD was the culprit as its only 7200rpm, but I recently got an OCZ SSD, and have noticed that running games off that makes little difference. I still get slow down/low fps in certain areas of games such as Borderlands 2, Arma 2 and especially Arma 3.

The low fps issue happens when I try and run these games at max, I know something is going to struggle as it's not the strongest system, but I am wondering which bit is struggling the most as the performance seems to be down on most benchmarks I have looked at, for example this one.

Is it my board? It's probably the cheapest component ~£30
Is it my SSD/HDD? Read/Write of the SSD is meant to be 550mb/s but it is actually around 250mb/s
Is it my processor? It is overclocked as high as my temperatures allow me

All my cores are unparked, it made little difference, about 3 to 4 fps.
Resinstalling Arma 3 to SSD made no difference at all.

Not your SSD, nor an HDD as it wouldn't really only effect load times before the level starts. You should have absolutely no bottlenecks with that set-up unless a component is bad or your mobo can't handle those components (unlikely). Bare in mind, the graphics settings and components in the benchmarks you've posted. Benchmark your as close as possible and post the results.

Drivers are updated to latest non-beta CCC. OS Bug, elaborate? OS is a 64 bit, PCI-e bus speed is supposedly x16 and so I imagine it is.

This installation is only about a month old, I don't really think that is the problem anyway to be honest.

I have only essential software on my rig at the moment and haven't uninstalled anything i.e. there is nothing left behind because it's all meant to still be there.

Do you not reckon it is a hardware limitation then? I am open to believe it could be software, but I just don't see where the problem is residing.

Nah, it's not all I can do, I have fixed the issue, it was hardware related. Arma 3 was not using all the cores, probably because it's still in Alpha, not sure, but here is how I fixed it for anyone else:

Arma III optimisation.

Lol my rig is muuuuuuuuuch older than yours and I can run most games easily, so yeah, it mustn't be an hardware issue. You said you were getting spikes in other games aswell... did that Arma 3 fix work for all of them? lol
