Can someone explain how I can mount a monitor with VESA screw holes on a Dell monitor stand?

I have a 2405FPW and 1704FPT monitor stand that I would like to use with my ASUS and Samsung monitor.

I don't think Dell monitors are compatible with normal VESA mounts. Dell makes their own. I know that you can't use a Dell mount for normal VESA monitors.

For a monitor to be VESA-compliant regarding mounting it has to be universally compatible with VESA mounts. That means that you can use any VESA mount of the correct size (usually 100 x 100mm) for a Dell monitor. Dell's own monitor stands attach using a proprietary bracket mechanism, however. As far as I'm aware this is meant for Dell monitors and Dell monitors only.

Thank you. I was hoping there was another VESA adapter like the one for the Dell E-series, but I guess not :( Repped.

Ugh, I don't think you can mod the dell stands. They have those click in things. Vesa requires screw hols and I don't think Dell's have any.

I just got an Ergotron MX and it's amazing, if it's any consolation. NCIX  has the lowest prices for them.
