DDR3-1600 in Biostar A780L3L

Got a quick question for the people on here more knowledgeable than I am. My Mobo (in sig rig) says its supports 1600Mhz DDR3 as an OC. Does this simply mean that if I purchased 1600Mhz RAM that the BIOS would downclock it to 1333, then I would simply have to "OC" it to 1600? or would I have to purchase 1333 and actually OC it to 1600? Thanks in advance for answers.

Just buy 1600RAM and set the exact details in the BIOS, it would recognise it as an overclock.

Most boards dont support RAM over 1866/1600 without 'OCing' but people do it all the time
