Hmmm have you tried the benchmark with 2xSSAA? I think @1440p 2x would be enough....

It kinda explains what happened in 2033. I couldnt get through the first game the AI was terrible you would be sneaking and be spotted 10 mis away then have to fight an army lol. I made a friend that really wanted to play it get through it and watched.

I do think we will see alot of improvement with drivers as with most games. They just got this out so we could play. 10% gain is not much so I expect more over time.

I get similar benches, gonna try running 2x AA over 4x. At 2560x1440 I don't think it will make any difference in terms of visual quality.

The PhysX effects are awesome though.

Just ran the benchmark. Preset 0 maxed, and Preset 1 with SSAA disabled (there was only a box to tick, dunno why). There's a bug mentioning SSAA is OFF on Preset 0 SS, but that's because I ran the two presets sequentially.

Not a heavy overclocker, so everything ran on a i7 3770k@4.5 GHz and SLI TITANS@1124/1110 MHz
That's on 320.14 beta @1440p


Preset 0 maxed with SSAA results:


Preset 1 no SSAA results:


Those low 10s and 20s were only for split seconds and are hardly noticeable during the benchmark, but overall everything just felt a lot more smooth without SSAA, with an average FPS of 66.67. Average scores are similar to the ones you guys got, but on a lower overclock. Guess I'll just try and force MSAA x4 and disable SSAA.

Actually, forget what I said. 2xSSAA is pretty smooth in actual gameplay. FRAPsed for half an hour and lowest FPS was 50, max 70, avg 66. Pretty fine. Benchmark is 4xSSAA only it seems.

Er sure. Mostly maxed out with downsampling from 1152p, except SSAA is at 0.5x. In addition, 2x TRSGSSAA is used.





This gave me a solid 60 FPS (capped) with the rig below. However I no longer use these settings: now I disabled in-game AA in favor of 2x SGSSAA via NVIDIA Inspector. The result is much better AA minus the image blur, though 40-60 FPS. To enable this, do the following:

  • Go to Metro: Last Light's profile in NVIDIA Inspector.
  • Set AA to override, and 2x multisampling.
  • Disable transparency multisampling and use 2x transparency sparse grid supersampling.
  • Set negative LOD bias to allow.
  • Set LOD bias to -0.5
  • Hit apply

This seems to be a very good balance between image quality and performance. I don't have any screenshots yet.
