Moving from P67 to Z77 and keeping 2600K?

Thread Starter
I am looking at getting a new MB, i want to change up my colors of my system and want a nicer board, so i am thinking of getting a Asus Maximus Formula V Z77 board to replace my P67 board but still use my 2600K cpu since it is a very good cpu and i really dont want to spend over 300.00 to get something that is better like the 3770K. What i am wanting to know is if i just change the board out but use the same Hard Drives and SSD would i have to reload window onto my SSD or would it be able to boot right up without doing anything. Thanks: Mick

you'll be fine. windows will want the drivers for the motherboard, chipset, usb, audio, ect.

either install them from the driver disc or download the latest ones.

pretty much try this^ if you dont want to do a claen install

but IMO it is always nice to do a clean install so you clean up the garbage from the previous install even if it is PITA
