What should I expect ppd-wise?

Thread Starter
I'm running an i5 3570k @4.4 ghz with a gtx 680 4gb overclocked by a +130 gpu offset and +275 memory offset.

I'm getting 40k ppd and I just wanted to know if this was expected or if I should expect more, as I am new to folding with this computer.

Thanks!

I'm new as well so I'm not sure if I'm correct:

If you add the client-type beta flag, you can get as high as 130K (my i7-3770K + 7950 OC gets125K) due to the use of Core 17.

It all depends on the WUs you get. Use the beta flag on the GPU as the above poster said. Currently your GPU with get about 4-5x more points the your CPU due to the beta units 100k or so. Your i5 can get about 30k points if you fold in Ubuntu, a VM will also be more effective then windows. The GPU is also suppose to preform better in Linux but I have not tried GPU folding in Linux yet.

+Mem does not make a difference in folding performance. If you can get a better core clock without the mem put the mem at +0 and OC the hell out of the core.

Your 3570k should make between 10-15k ppd but your 680 should make well over 80k ppd with core 17, especially with an overclock. My 670 at 1150mhz core is making 71k ppd.

I haven't had the time to oc it, but I will eventually. It runs nice in cool at the stock 1150 (50C) so I have plenty of room temperature wise
