[PROBLEM] Windows 8 and Ubuntu 13.04 Dual Boot

Hey Guys, I have installed Windows 8 on my PC, it has been great so far. I wiped my 2TB Internal HDD and my 128GB SSD when I installed Windows 8, this created a problem, I looked into my Disk Management application and saw this problem, I had the ~60GB for Ubuntu, but know this looks like a single un-partitioned drive.

Would it be safe if I deleted the ~60GB file? When I press 'explore' on the smaller file it brings be to the same HDD as when I press 'explore' on the ~1.8TB file.

Let me try and understand the situation.
You had a ubuntu 60GB partition on the synergy that you formated to NTFS while installing W8 ? So it's not a dual boot anymore, you want to know if you can get only a single volume on the 2TB drive. Is that correct ?

Don't Worry, I did the safest option. I backed up the 2TB HDD then reformatted the whole drive.

Thanks anyway

Wow, good question and you did the right thing of backing it up. (This video below MAY help you avoid the error you had but don't take my word for it because this was version 12.10)

Thanks, I will look at that video when I have some spare time to set-up Ubuntu again
