This game runs smoother compared to 2033 using the exact same settings but its pulls juice like no other game I have ever seen..

I predict the power bill is going to be high for next month biggrin.gif

after the patch cranked up my res to 2720x1530 add .5x just for the kicks (no physx of course) even in the end which are a heavy scenario was 60avg all over the place not a single dip..

Whel, this makes no sense to me:

I have 2500K Oced to 4.4Ghz, two gtx 670 in SLI also OCed and been playing Metro Last Light in 3D Vision on my 720p 100 inch projection screen and it looks freaking great, loving it so far! I am with everythig maxed (4x MSSA; 16x ansiotropic; Very High, the all works, except tesselation, which I keep at high instead of very high). Seems very fluid with a good Frame-Rate and everything but I decided to experiment the built in benchmark, even though I knew that its very demanding and not a good representation on in-game playing. But I wanted to know the difference between playing in 3D Vision or not:

in 3D Vision: Average Framerate: 37.99
Normal: Average Framerate: 41.53

Shouldnt the difference be, like, double? Of course that in 3D Vision you can always get 60FPS per eye but if 3D Vision results were 37 I was expecting like 70 for normal playing, right? At least in other games thats what happens...

You're telling me. Last Light showed me something that I haven't seen in a really long time...throttle :/ I'm flashed to the 115% Power Target BIOS, could go higher but never bothered because it was always more than enough. Then for the hell of it, I played a while with x4 SSAA. Was getting ~45fps average, though I usually turn it down to x2 because I'm a sucker for a smooth framerate, even though 45fps looked surprisingly smooth (very small deviation in the frametimes measured using Precision, Last Light is one of the best I've seen so far all-around, especially as far as frametimes/smoothness goes). But anyways...x4 SSAA and, couldn't believe it, I saw it throttling down to 1124-1137mhz a few times and the power target of 115% being surpassed. Pulls a ton of power indeed.

I'm getting some issues with this game on my 7950. Before updating to the newest version (I was on initial release), I played the game fine on Very High with some other settings turned up. Now with the newest update, I don't get those lighting and shadow issues, but my GPU usage spikes to 100%, my GPU fans hit 100%, and my temps skyrocket and hit 100C making my game shut down. What's up with that?

I chuckled at the old cpu you have. If you are going to brag about how big your e-pen is on here. At least have a top end CURRENT cpu to match with the 670's. rolleyes.gif

It's very demanding/power-hungry when the settings get up there. What were your temps before this update? Were you also getting 100% usage before too? Maybe the game is utilizing you graphics card more fully now.

My temps were in the high 70s before, nowhere near 100C. The usage did get to 100% quite often as well, so I'm really not too sure what's going on.
