Might be time to do a little Antec 620 Mod Project on that card.

I had that issue with my old 5870 Windforce, and it would skyrocket to 100c even with new TIM applied. After I slapped the Antec 620 ziptie mod on, it loads at around 50c all day long folding.

Then for the hell of it, I played a while with x4 SSAA. Was getting ~45fps average, though I usually turn it down to x2 because I'm a sucker for a smooth framerate, even though 45fps looked surprisingly smooth (very small deviation in the frametimes measured using Precision, Last Light is one of the best I've seen so far all-around, especially as far as frametimes/smoothness goes). But anyways...x4 SSAA and, couldn't believe it, I saw it throttling down to 1124-1137mhz a few times and the power target of 115% being surpassed. Pulls a ton of power indeed.

Yea, seems like the dev's took time to polish the game.. Uses less vram compared to Bioshock Infinite yet runs smooth at 30+FPS. @ 4.5Ghz and using a single 570 I get around 15FPS maxed out but if I disable tess/ssaa + lower the quality to "High" it stays pegged at 60FPS for the most part. Very pleased on how the game turned out, wish it had MP though..

Just for kicks?

Do you not realize that SSAA at .5 makes your game run at .5x, or HALF, of your intended resolution? laughingsmiley.gif

Congratulations, you managed to get a smooth 60 FPS at 1360x765 resolution with a 7970 crossfire setup!

Very impressive!

I'm not sure where the sarcasm was...

You conducting an elaborate experiment at .5x SSAA to find out the game ran smooth on your AMD cards?

or

Being impressed that the game ran smooth at 1360x765 resolution on your AMD cards?

So let me get this straight, are you actually trying to deny that .5X SSAA at 2720 x 1530 is really less than said resolution?

You should deny it, cause it's actually running 1920x1080 and not 1365x765.

Still running at half the res of 2570x1530, though.
