I've long since read that the culture in Microsoft had turn 'bad' years ago, and if we're honest, they've always had a culture of rushing features through since their conception. But at least back in the early days, MS were keen to provide incremental improvements to released software. These days I see less of that in the desktop space (minwin being the most notable exception).
