Because you know how it performs right? rolleyes.gif How about we let the reviews come out first before jumping to conclusions. The Titan is for a specific group of consumers and you are obviously not one of them. This sounds way more like a case of sour grapes than anything else to me.

because as you say, at this point there are 2 options, which, however, would not make everyone happy.

among these choices, the best one that wants to 780GTX 500/550 €. at least in this case, the agonies will be for only those few Titan owners who have paid a slightly faster card, for almost double the price: D

"In my World" the solution to make everyone happy was to make the Titan to pay a decent price, type 650/700€ max. not a 900/1,000€ and passes biggrin.gif

Again... you have ZERO idea how the performance will turn out. You have ZERO idea of the prices at launch yet. You know literally nothing but what the rumors are saying. Rather you are just mouthing off like your opinion is fact. People have their own personal reasons for buying things. Obviously you are not a happy buyer of Titan. That is in all honesty, completely your fault. That it is a theft if simply YOUR opinion. The Titan is priced at a point where people who want it or believe they will need it will buy it. If you feel slighted by their pricing, it's really your fault for buying it to begin with at the price they asked for. Simply sell your Titan when GTX 780 comes out. If your stars align, there will be someone like me waiting to possibly buy a cheaper "used" Titan.

oohhhh come on!

comment on what we know for now.

and therefore, for performance, if the 780GTX has only 2x SMX less than Titan, believe me, it will repeat a similar situation to that of the GTX 670 vs GTX 680;)

Titan would only have 16% + shaders, in games that will result in a paltry 10% + on average

I say keep up the price discrimination, Nvidia. AMD's need for a miracle is looking more and more feasible. biggrin.gif

Maybe Titan has more compute power than 780, or at least 20% faster. Plus Nvidia did not advertise Titan as their main product nor encourage people to buy it unlike with 680. It is the most powerful single GPU? Yes. It now does not matter what is the price, a card is made to show off which is far away from a consumer based product.

NABBO, gtx 670 and 680 scenario will most likely happen with 3 cards titan 780 and 770. With the largest gap being between Titan and 780.

Now, lets stop it and wait.

GTX 680 still go for way to much money in Europe

Maybe if you learned how to sort by price... the gtx 680 starts at 382....

500 to 600euro... im guessing £550, $850, 600euro COST! Add VAT and margin and your looking at £750, $1100 and 800euro.

When will the internet learn? Price speculation is great and the internet is usually bang on but thats COST excluding any profit and VAT/TAX. Noobs.

Really guys, you're all saying you can't extrapolate GTX 780 performance? It's Titan with an SMX disabled and less memory bandwidth. Someone with a Titan could easily down clock VRAM to match GTX 780 bandwidth and then we could just shave some off for the SMX deficiency.
Quote:
The formula for calculating GDDR5 memory bandwidth is "(Memory Clock) x [(Memory Interface) / 8] x 2."

Read more: How to Calculate the Memory Bandwidth for GDDR5 RAM | eHow http://www.ehow.com/how_12193732_calculate-memory-bandwidth-gddr5-ram.html#ixzz2TLWxuwzl

Titan = 3004 x (384/8) x 2 = 288GB/s
GTX 780 with 320-bit 6ghz GDDR: 3004 x (320/8) x 2 = 240GB/s
GTX 780 with 256-bit 6Ghz GDDR: 3004 x (256/8) x 2 = 192GB/s
GTX 780 with 320-bit 7ghz GDDR: 3500 x (320/8) x 2 = 280GB/s (so Titan with one SMX disabled)

To get Titan to hit

240GB/s: 2500mhz
192GB/s: 2000mhz

Memory not at effective speeds, so 6008mhz effective GDDR5 is 3004mhz.

Really not that hard, difference between GTX 670 and GTX 680 is a single SMX module disabled on GTX 670, so GTX 780 is probably going to be pretty close to an underclocked 384-bit Titan based on what kind of performance difference we see between 670 and 680.

So yes, we can extrapolate and there's no reason why we can't have a good idea of how GTX 780 will perform.

EDIT: but as for price, you guys can stop kidding yourselves. When is the last time Nvidia offered a good price to performance ratio on a high end but not top of the line part? Last I remember was 8800 GTX. Nvidia just beat expectations for earnings by basically avoiding price to performance and going "omg look halo product no frame time issues we can charge moar!"
