The 700 series launches on the 23rd and you'll probably be kicking yourself after they launch if you buy something now.

About the poll : People voted for the 7970 GHz Edition because it performs better (at least FPS-wise) than a 680. But the 770 will be an overclocked 680 with the cooling solution of a Titan, and more likely than not, it will beat the 7970 GHz Edition. None of the specs/prices are official yet, but if they are then you can get a 770 instead of the cards you mentioned. That way, you get newer tech at a very small premium over the 680/7970GE and have better performance than 680/7970GE. Not to mention the better overclockability + better acoustics the new cooler will provide.

Also, depending on your budget and the resolution of your monitor, you can even get a 780 which is a cut-down Titan and will hopefully perform similar to a stock Titan when overclocked.

There's no reason to jump on a new graphics card with the new cards almost already out. I strongly suggest you wait till they come out. smile.gif

Thanks again for your reply, tell me what u think about my toughts, i want the pc for gaming and editing, after effects/photoshop/fotography all that stuff.

For the price of two 680s, you could get three 7970s, which will easily beat two 4gb 680s (and will beat two 780s, as they beat two Titans). Having one card in the PCIe 2 slot and the other two in the PCie 3s won't affect performance even negligibly.
GHz editions aren't really worth it imo, just buy a 7970 and overclock the crap out of it.

As for the PSU, as long as you're not making 1200mhz+ OCs, you'll be fine with a 1000w with three 7970s. The Fatal1ty supports 3-way CFX/SLI.
As for what PSU you should get: I personally recommend Corsair, NZXT, Silverstone, Fractal-Design, especially BeQuiet! (a little pricier than most), Seasonic. If you prefer someone that's fine. Just some advice.

If you're not willing to go three-way SLI/CFX for some reason, I'd still go with two 7970s as long as you're not running a super high resolution setup.

The 770 is going to have (supposedly, based upon rumors) the exact same GPU as the 680, GK104. It has no cores deactivated. In other words, it's as powerful as a GK104 is going to get (aside from OCs). Yes, the new cooler will definitely be an improvement over a STOCK 680. But you could buy a 680 with a third-party cooler right now.
However, if zo1o were to buy two 780s (when they release), THAT would be a considerable performance improvement over 2 7970GEs or 2 680s. But not 3 7970s, which is and will still be far cheaper than two 780s.

Thanks for all the replies guys, based on what i've read, ill wait for the next graphics cards to come out then to see if it worth it or not, if not ill get the amd 7970 and overclock it to the GHZ Edition, i might buy a water block to fit it in to keep thing cooled, and for the power supply based on you guys and the video a 850 gold should be enough but, if i get the 7970, later on i could just buy another card if a game gives me any trouble with it... and one more thing, for you amd users, what about the drivers? are they good and friendly like the nvidia's one???

You're opening up a can of worms with that question but I will tell you that when I was using AMD (previously an unlocked 6950), I had no problems with AMD drivers thumb.gif

Switched from Nvidia to AMD recently. Then I added a second AMD card. I can tell you from personal experience that I had absolutely no issues what so ever - both single and multi GPU setups.
