Hey everybody, I was hoping someone could help me out with my probelm, Im absolutely stumped at this point. Okay here goes:

Computer was operating fine yesterday, I decided I wanted to put my other HDD in so I cracked her open and installed: computer booted fine, however HDD was not recognized, no problem though maybe I forgot to set the jumper to the right position. Crack her back open change jumper, plug back in and this time nothing, cant get to bios comp wont even post. Try to power it off and it just turns itself right back on instantly. Swapped power supply, no help. Undid every cable in the computer and made sure everything was seated properly, still nothing. So now Im stumped. If anyone has any suggestions it would be greatly appreciated. Im hoping its something stupid I forgot but I am fearing the worst here. Thanks Everyone

Have you perhaps tried a different IDE cable . Also try Cable select for a jumper position on that HDD. However what you describe is a Dead HDD.

Yes I did try another IDE Cable. Now even with hard drive I was installing removed it still does the same thing. Am I to assume they are both dead?

Sorry I was a little unclear I think. The primary HDD is SATA and the one I was putting in was IDE. I dont know what the heck to do. Im totally stumped and without my main computer.

As far as updating the bios is concerned. I cant even get into the bios, the computer doesnt make it that far in the boot process. I get total nothingness. Should I swap out the mobo?

When power button is held it just turns itself back on again and sits there. Fans running but nothing happening. Its rather frustrating.
