Need help with case fans.

I plan on buying a new power supply and I noticed some of the new one do not have molex connections. Is there another way to power the fans?
Can you link exactly which fans you have and which powersupply you are looking at?

Can't think of the name of the fans at the moment but they are 3 pin and blue LEDs and i have 4 of these fans. The power supply is OCZ 1000w

So they are 4 pin female?
You can plug those into your motherboard. The plug is a 4 pin header, but 3 pin goes in and works too, they are just not PWM controlled, they are fixed RPM. you can find the plug in your users manual or http://www.gigabyte.fi/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3908#ov
Remember to shut down your computer and unplug your psu before connecting fans!!
If you still want to use your PSU, you can find 3 / 4 pin to molex adapters.

Also, if you are looking to power your sig system with that, that's a MASSIVE overkill smile.gif

Btw that psu isn't recommended in the FAQ: recommended powersupplies. i wouldn't trust it.

I forgot about the peripheral connections. I could use those. Overkill gives me room to expand in the future.

1000W can run SR-2 dual xeons 96gb ram quad 7970 and a case full of hard drives basically, are you going to upgrade to something like that biggrin.gif
If you are gonna run i5 / i7 or high end amd with two gaming GPUs, quality 750W is plenty. It's a common misbelief that in future power consumption goes up, it goes down actually wink.gif

Going for a overkill is both a waste of money and a waste of power

When you use so little of the PSU the efficiency drops like a rock

Which means you will be paying more more money to run a 1000 watts PSU then a 550 watts PSU with the same system
