Should I get a laptop or a typewriter for college?

Thread Starter
Hey, I am deciding if I should grab a typewriter or a laptop for college.
Anyone know which one is good?

What are the pros and cons about it?

Well the typewriter works with the power out so thats the obvious choice.

So does a laptop, ironically. Unless power outs are extremely long.

Typewriter? You want to bring it to classes? Is that a troll thread?

Clearly the typewriter is the better choice as they have better reliability, more durability, less expensive to replace, fewer distractions.

Edit: I forgot the most important part of this choice. In the event of an assault on your person while walking to or from a class, you can beat the attacker to death without fear of data loss.

If you do go buy a typewriter, don't forget to buy a fedora and some narrow ties to go with it. That'll keep the entire 1950s aesthetic unified...

Typewriter...they are cheaper so there will be more beer money.

Oh and all you really need for Calc 1 is an abacus (actually in my Calc 1 class we weren't allowed to use calculators...second day of class about half the students had dropped it. It ended up being great though since all the math was easy...like ening in 0 or 5 and seldom any decimals. Actually let us focus on the calculus rather than the arithmetic behind it)

Typewriter fo sho. Use the saved money to buy some raybans, skinny jeans, a scarf, and an iphone 5. Put an ironic sticker on your typewriter that says "Laptops are sooooo mainstream". THIS is how you make friends in college.

All I can picture is opening up the door to this guys dorm room and there is just this frail, depressing-looking gentleman typing his thesis by the light of an oil lamp, surrounded in darkness...
