Best mice these days?

Thread Starter
HI, looking for a new mouse. I play competitive FPS games, so tracking is important. I play with an 8"-12"/360 depending on the game, will never play at a sens lower than 12"/360. I prefer a sort of claw/palm hybrid grip. I was looking at the G400 and Zowie FK, but have heard of lots of G400 failures and the Zowie FK is expensive/hard to find. Coming off a mouse w/ cable failure, I would prefer to avoid this in the future, so am afraid of the Logitech. What are my other options, and how is the zowie fk (heard mixed reviews on traking)?

What kind of mousepad are you planning to use with it?

G400 is a general favourite, it's got great tracking and it's dirt cheap. It's fairly well made but not the best, at the price you can't really complain though.

I hate its new coating though. not even the sides are rubber. THis new coating is really not very grippy.. only after extended session you will get kinda used to it.. then make a pause of playing for 1 hour and good luck gripping that thing.
Glossy all the way. In that regard I vote for the zowie ec1 EVO in white.. if only it wasnt so expensive.

I usually just sand off any rubber coating on my mice until I get a glossy surface.
Sticks much better to my hand. Guess it voids varranty tho, so be aware if you wanna try it yourself, but highly recommended.
Event the g400 now sticks to my hand like glue!

I have two that I recommend to family and friends for gaming; the Zowie AM and the Func MS-3

Both are superb gaming mice

Don't buy the AM on Newegg. Buy it on eBay brand new and save tons of money thumb.gif.

g400(non braided cable=win to me:D) or Deathadder, best possible sensors.
If ur fine with spending a big buck on a small mouse with no buttons, the Zowie mice might be for you.

Theres nothing new and fancy, the most fancy it can get is that the Deathadder 13 now has rubberized grips on the side so u dont have to put tape there for a good grip:)
