Everybody has always said this is the god of all mice, maybe I should just bite finally.

Yes. I just did it (totally forgot about it!) and it's super smooth.

Thing is, you need the right pad/surface. A better compatibility would make it a true wmo succsesor! Speaking of wood/glass. Btw i am currently doing a logitech/avago lense transplantation on my Savu. First tests are promising (>1mm lod on icemat) but the sensor position/direction is quite limiting. rolleyes.gif

I've never heard of the Savu. If it's only problem is compatibility and it works fine with Talent, then it sounds like a good fit. Shape looks like it would be fine. Also seriously considering the IME 3.0.

Should also note that LOD does not matter to me at all (as long as it isn't ridiculously high).

QPAD 5K is excellent. Really comfortable and good precision. It´s not so cheap though.

Why no mention of the Steelseries Sensei Raw ... ... Is it really that bad of a mouse ? ... Or does it also need a good pad to make it worthwhile ?

With a cloth pad like the Talent the best option is an optical ADNS 3xxx (like the 3090) based mouse like the Zowie AM, FK, Razer Deathadder, Abyssus, Roccat Savu, Lua, CM Storm Spawn, Logitech G400 and a ton of others. Just go with the shape and features you like most and you'll be fine.

Avoid ADNS 9500 or 9800 sensor based mice like the Xai, Sensei, G9x and the likes if you want a 1:1 tracking as close as possible, as these have a little positive acceleration and on cloth pads could even show negative accel (and slightly inconsistent tracking overall). Also avoid Philips Twin-Eye mice like the Cyborg RAT series or the Razer mice because either they jitter on soft surfaces like cloth pads or they have dynamic DPI scaling (=positive acceleration) to "fix" exactly that.

It was the worst mouse I've ever used. And that's coming from someone who also has the normal Sensei, which was the second best mouse I've ever used...

I fully agree with this ... Avoid Phillips Twin-Eye like the plague ... I have 1 and it is the worst sensor I have ever used by far !

Yeah don't get me wrong... I love this sensor when used on hard surfaces and without dynamic DPI scaling (unfortunately that is only the case with the old Lachesis or the old Mamba with fw version 1.06 and maybe PTE mice from other manufacturers). In that constellation there's nothing that comes close to its accuracy at the moment. But put it on a soft surface and it will drive you crazy, unless it's one with the dynamic DPI scaling enabled but those are horrible no matter on what surface you put them on due to having acceleration (which is exactly what dynamic DPI scaling does).

I'm between the Roccat Savu, IME 3.0, and Zowie AM/FK

Savu - My biggest concern is I prefer not needing drivers, how is the shape compared to CM Storm Spawn? Hopefully bigger

IME 3.0 - Outdated?, have to manually oc USB port

Zowie AM/FK - Have gotten very little feedback on these, DPI steps are unusual
