IME's not outdated. It's still a big pick in the CS and Quake crowd. It's only limiting factor is its fixed 400dpi (which is no problem considering your mousing speed, your in/360 and mine are similar). It's got two solid side buttons and a great shape. It's got great tracking stock and even better when overclocked (which I forgot existed). Perfect control of the device is fairly high when using 500mhz polling rate apparently.

IME 3.0 - Outdated?, have to manually oc USB port

Zowie AM/FK - Have gotten very little feedback on these, DPI steps are unusual
You wouldn't want an IME if you considered DA too big

The Intellimouse Explorer 3 is a very large mouse. Lower malfunction speed.

The Zowie mice are picky about surfaces. A solid light colored pad is the way to go. Also they only have one native step.

The Savu is smaller than the DeathAdder. Has one scaled step.

The worse performance on multi-color pads is probably a sensor thing, right? So wouldn't that mean Savu should be used with single-color pads too?

Out of the mice you posted that you are interested in the Zowie AM is likely the best choice.

Seriously though, if you palm your mouse regularly I would rather buy a dedicated palm grip mouse. I don't get what the deal is with people palming ambidextrous mice.

Savu and EC2 evo might be what you are looking for?

What is the best small mouse (like Spawn, G9x, etc.) for the high resolution display and high sensitivity?

Using an 800 cpi mouse in a 1080p display I think quite slow, hence I'm using max sensitivity in Windows CP.
