I just got my 500GB 840 in the mail. Looks like I already have an update to do...lol. I can live with faster reads though ;)

I did a benchmark with Magician after the firmware update and it looks like my random write IOPS is slower... about the 60-70 when before it was at the max of about 90ish... anyone else notice anything similar?

As for the ISO update, For me the Update Utility Screen is still all messed up you can barely at most see anything.

So if you use the ISO to update and cant see anything just press the "Y" button twice, Let it finish then once its done hit the "Y" button again it will drop you too DOS. Then PWR down to complete the update.

Yesterday I updated my firmware with magician.

Now my pc shutdown randomly. Is there any way to perform a firmware downgrade? I've tried usb bootable tool buy I barely can read screen. I've pressed Y twice but i'm not sure if it has done anything.

I have the 840 120gb(MZ-7TD120BW) and just updated. Noticed a slight improvement in read and write. Here are my test results:

The last test was after I enabled write-cache buffer flushing. It appears it got disabled somehow when I tested in January and was limiting my random write iops??

Erased windows and now I can't even reboot after reinstalling win .. I've tried to configure ssd as AHCPI and IDE and both crash.
This new firmware seems to be totally bugged with my motherboard (ASUS Rampage III extreme 1501 bios)

As I said:
I've Samsung 840 Pro 256GB.

After updating firmware to latest version (DXM05B0Q) in Windows with Samsung Magician software my drive is completely bricked.
It shows in "frozen state".

I've tried unfreezing booting with Parted Magic and the unfreeze option. It stills shows as frozen on Windows.

What can I do? Is there any way to do a downgrade to DXM04B0Q?

I'm desperate
