Technically the deal hasn't actually finished yet, it's set to close the 2nd quarter of this year (http://time.com/37842/facebook-oculus-rift/
), but if it does, if you have any hopes that this will reach consumers without being tainted by facebook you are severely mistaken. They are not going to invest 2 billion dollars in anything, and not have absolute, and complete control over it. Which is bad depending on how you looks at it.
The way I'm looking at it, the Oculus RIFT will just no longer be a gaming platform/accessory, not saying games won't be on it, just like facebook has games, but it will defintely be a social media/networking outlet.
Looks like Project Morpheus from Sony will be the one going after the gaming market now.
As much as this sucks, who here can honestly say you'd have said "no" to 2 billion dollars, even if you know it means you're selling out to something like FB.
Minecraft has already dropped the Oculus since this update
