I Agree.
Crysis 3 is enjoyable to me. And after game completion when I watched that Video "Previously in Crysis", my love for Crysis as a series has become more stronger, and I really would want to play Crysis 4. All Crysis games are very enjoyable, Crysis 2 was little boring but it was ok.

However after playing all those old Tomb Raider series I can proudly hate mad.gif Tomb Raider 2013, this is just what I believe.
And I can't say how good the new 'Metro LL' is, but I just know the older one was way boring. And I know that is just my opinion redface.gif

A HD7970m does well on MP3, let alone desktop parts. Also this.
Arkham City runs fine on a HD7970.
ARMA III ran fine in Alpha, I'm not sure if they made it more resource intensive but generally optimization is done after alpha and even beta.
Witcher 2 runs fine on a GTX 590 at max settings...Guess which card is about as fast, a HD7970.

This is all before OCing, (And before the drivers that improved FPS for the GCN GPUs in general in some cases at least) I have no idea where OCN got this whole "HD7950 HD7970 are mid-range and can't max out virtually every game" thing from but it's completely false. You can max out all but a handful of games (At most I can think of one which is arguable anyway.) and honestly, for the most part dual or tri GPUs are for people who would prefer a constant 60fps rather than having occasional dips.

And the Witcher 2 is only demanding with Ubersampling on which has the same effect as Arkham city's DX11. More than halves FPS with no noticeable visual difference.

There's also this whole thing.

8 jaguar netbook cores? Do the math. It's 2011 again and the i5 2500 is born.

Ps4 will be obsolete by 2015 and that's when I'm upgrading my 2500k. Consoles are stuck with obsolete tech as soon as they're released.

Yet virtually every game on a console will be GPU limited before CPU limited as they don't really get RTS' which is the main type of game that shows a CPU limitation.

I'm honestly surprised the modern gaming PC hasn't rendered consoles irrelevant at this point. You can build a heck of a little machine that will fit under your TV for about the same price of a new-gen console. The point of the first two sentences is to point out that Sony and MS are always basically complaining about not making money for the first three years of a console's life. We have games like COD (love it or hate it) that are Billion dollar franchises. Let the superior machine do the computing and push out games that make money, no matter how bad they might be.

Really? So you're saying you can get a PSU, Mobo, mid range GPU, 8 core CPU, 8gb Ram, 500gb-1tb HDD, Blu-Ray Drive, Case, Controller, Heatsinks, fans, 1 controller, and OS for less than ~$400? For the first few years, it must keep up with most modern gaming PCs as well in terms of fidelity. Methinks you will have a hard time doing so. Why would an average person put the time in to put that together assuming it is even possible.

Considering the margins that AMD and Sony will make off of the console (very little) what makes you think you can do better?

Controllers, and people not knowing you can plug USB 360 controllers in and they work OOTB on a number of games. I had one of my friends who mainly plays on PC and 360 saying that they hate playing GTA on PC because of the controls but was fine after I plugged my Onza in.

AVX is something like SSE. Do you remember about these instructions that were supposed to speed up Internet browsing? SSE? Then how they added few other instructions and expanded register and called it SSE2? Well it's similar situation, it's a larger register that can do more per cycle.

Oh. Thanks

I did a little math and I found the single core is 0.79722076653 efficient as a single i3 core. So it's not that bad, 8 cores would have a lot of CPU power. (BTW that i3 runs at 2.5 GHz, two cores have 41981 speed, 4 AMD cores have 53549 speed at 2 GHz.) Both Atom and ARM are much worse.

But only to a certain point, keeping in mind stuff like physics can be offloaded to the GPU. I do see the CPU being the limitation late in the PS4s life-time, but only if they get an extended life to the point of the PS3 and 360. (ie. The low amount of RAM would have been much less of a limitation if the PS4 and next Xbox had launched in 2010)
