We have games like COD (love it or hate it) that are Billion dollar franchises. Let the superior machine do the computing and push out games that make money, no matter how bad they might be.
Really? So you're saying you can get a PSU, Mobo, mid range GPU, 8 core CPU, 8gb Ram, 500gb-1tb HDD, Blu-Ray Drive, Case, Controller, Heatsinks, fans, 1 controller, and OS for less than ~$400? For the first few years, it must keep up with most modern gaming PCs as well in terms of fidelity. Methinks you will have a hard time doing so. Why would an average person put the time in to put that together assuming it is even possible.
Considering the margins that AMD and Sony will make off of the console (very little) what makes you think you can do better?
