Fanless cooler for Asus P8H77-I inside Node 304 case?

Thread Starter
Anybody have any suggestions for a fanless cooler for the Asus P8H77-I inside a Fractal Design Node 304, CPU will be a Core i3-3220 (55W TDP).

I’ve found both two options so far both seem a lot overkill:

SilverStone Heligon HE02 – this is the preferred solution as it would seem to work better with the case fan if it works size wise.

NoFan CR-95C – This things just huge, expensive and just wow, would so guess it would not fit blinksmiley.gif

Any thoughts on what would be a good choice? Recommendations on what people have used in the past?

Update:
Or missing the completely obvious, an AIO water cooling kit, since there is already a nice big 140mm fan that could be replaced with one of these. Big question, reliability and noise as this will be 24/7 in a server for the next few years.

It can fit coolers upto 165mm in height, so why not get a CM Hyper EVO

It is huge, will fit, and will be more than enough to cool that low TDP CPU, just remove the fan

That sounds awesome, the CM Hyper 212 EVO is a lot cheaper and lighter than the previously mentioned ones.

So you recon it will be fine without a fan with 55W TDP?

It should hold up, but a Gaia CPU cooler *may* be a tad better for passive, as fin density is lower, but the 212 should handle it

The HE02 may be slightly too tall for the Node 304. You might want to consider a Silverstone NT-06 PRO, but fanless. According to SS, they can cool a 65w CPU completely passively, and in my experience the cooling in that case is good enough that on the Low fan-speed setting, you should have enough airflow to keep that case cool and basically silent.

I would make shure those coolers are compatible with the board if you are using a discrete GPU. The CPU socket is pretty close to the PCI-E Slot.

Most coolers expand horizontally over the RAM slot, not vertically onto the PCIe slots

I have a noctua nh-d14 stuffed in my Node 304 on a 3570k and it holds up fine when used passive. Ofcourse I still have the 2 x 92mm intakes and one 140mm exhaust so it is not really passive. But nowadays I just run one low rpm 120mm fan in the middle slot and the noise stays the same but thermals improve.
