Recommend me a Good Point and Shoot Camera.. - Page 2

so the cliff notes version of this 4 page thread is....

a) forget spending money on a cheap point and shoot and use your cellphone for the time being until you have a larger budget.
b) buy a used higher end PS which will run you close to the limits of your budget and may have trouble birding
c) buy a mirrorless camera which you can "upgraded" later but spend slightly more then your budget
d) get a bridge camera which will be larger/more expensive than all the other options but satisfy all your requirements

Used Canon S90 (or an S95 if you can find them going that low). The train pretty much stops there as far as I'm concerned, as you're getting a good compromise of focal length, image quality and especially portability with it.

I didn't base recommendations off of that. It was just a general anecdotal opinion about the majority of P&S purchases I personally see. That's all.

I'm interested to see what the OP decides to do after all of this. Please chime in when you've narrowed it down to a decision OP. Sorry for the mess

How many p&s camera purchases do you see? Do you sell them or something?
