crossover 27q not turning on

So I bought the crossover monitor just over one year ago. Love it. I came home from vacation yesterday and I find the power led flashing purple. The computer was not on, but everything had power supplied. Normally the led is red when off, and blue when a signal is present. I then unplugged everything then tried another power brick with a second computer. No good.

I then decided to pop the back of the monitor to visually inspect all the boards for anything abnormal. Again, all looks ok!

I then removed the blue main board that contains the power jack and dvi port. I plugged it in to power only and found that one chip would get too hot to touch within five seconds. Unfortunately without my computer I can't post the picture. I can tell you its the chil on the corner near the dvi port.

Has anyone experienced this? Is the board available? Its laballed as: DigitalWave DW270QDP.

Any ideas? I'd hate to lose this monitor over something simple. Maybe there is a member with a broken crossover.

I am having the same problem. I turned the monitor on yesterday and heard a mini-pop and now the notification LED just blinks purple. I opened the back and disconnected the LED control board, as most reports online show that as I possible issue, and noticed that when I supplied power to it again that the LED would go red with no signal and blue when hooked up to the computer as normal. I am leaning toward it being the zyglobal board that failed even though it looks fine with no signs of damage.

Anyone else have any suggestions on what else it could be.

I've been searching recently and talking to the ebay dealer accessorieswhole. Although I did not purchase the m ok nitor frkm them, they've been very helpful in answering my questions. I am ordering a new inverter board (mine does have the newer green board already installed) and also the main bypass board ( board witb power and display jacks). They think its the inverter board, but I'm very concerned about the overheating chip on the bypass board. Anyhow, ill know if either is the problrm sometime next week. Ill keep this updated.

as promised, i'll give you an update.

I ordered the mainboard and inverter from Korea. I replaced the mainboard first because i thought this was the culprit. Well, it was. It solved my powering on issues, however i believe that something may have cause the output of the display to fail.

When the monitor powers on, the display just glows black. it registers the output from the pc, and goes to idle when it should. However, no display. So, i'm at either the panel is shot (unlikely) or the board for the panel went down when the mainboard went out. Could also be a cable problem. Mine has the small ribbon cable connecting the two boards.

So, it in the interest of not throwing good money after bad, unless i stumble upon another 27q, it's going to sit on the side of my desk.

Thanks!
Marshall

I need the contact details to order a PCB for my 27Q that's just gone BANG. It looks like it has the Blue board and I need to order a replacement green one.

I hate my Philips 23inch 1080 display I am using at the moment, it looks like the screen on the Pet 2001 I have in the garage, mono chrome and 10inch.
