You still need an appointment to meet with them. I setup the appointment that I had that day ~ 4 hours before since all the slots were packed. To add to this, the frustration of the failed technician did not help. She basically made it seem like there was nothing I could do but kept sales pitching other products. Her ultimate recommendation was to go to the Verizon store and ask for a replacement there - which I did. Only to be told I need to go back to the Apple store as Verizon does nothing with iPhones.
