You still need an appointment to meet with them. I setup the appointment that I had that day ~ 4 hours before since all the slots were packed. To add to this, the frustration of the failed technician did not help. She basically made it seem like there was nothing I could do but kept sales pitching other products. Her ultimate recommendation was to go to the Verizon store and ask for a replacement there - which I did. Only to be told I need to go back to the Apple store as Verizon does nothing with iPhones.

Update: I followed the recommendations of a great guy on these forums. Spoke to an Apple rep and he is checking to see whether or not a replacement phone can be issued. He said there is a great chance after reviewing the notes and seeing what was done exactly. Still not for sure, but it is a lot better than just hearing "no" by the previous manager.

They didnt have you sign a release before messing with your phone?

I would call the hotline for apple support, or if you are lucky enough to have insurance on your phone from your provider. Kinda freaks me out because the last couple of days, my iphone 5 power button has been a big buggy. Usually you bring the apple device in the store and they will basically hand you a new one (if you have apple care or is under the 1 year warranty still, which I would assume you are not)
