Metro bottleneck?

Thread Starter
I've been playing metro LL the past few hours and something is off, I've been playing with all the settings there is but it seems it's never smooth even if the fps is really high and I don't get why. I'm using an AMD 955 oc at 3.7 Ghz and my 670 is oc at 1200/3500. The problem is every few sec it seems the animation/framerate skip. I don't know how to explain it, Fps seems to drop a bit (10-15 fps) but it feels like the frame freeze really fast then come back to normal. I had it in bioshock infinite.

I'm not sure it's a bottleneck because the 670 is used to 100% and the cpu is used to like 80% but could it be the cpu that is causing these problems?

Considering it only came out yesterday, it could very well just be a performance bug.

i used to have an AMD X4 940 and was on at the time a GTX 570 SLI setup (about as fast as a 670). i had massive bottlenecking which i only realized after moving to an I7 2600k.

so id say yes for many games you will be bottle-necked do yourself a favor and upgrade to an i5 or an FX CPU.

having said that little skips are not usually result of a bottleneck usually bottle necking will affect your overall performance not intermittent little skips. make sure your running the new beta driver that was put out for metro and see if that fixes your issues.
