What is it that he said that got you in such an uproar anyways? Didn't look like he said anything offensive to me.

I thought I should post back.

I went ahead and delided my chip....no temp change mad.gif

I did however manage to get this http://valid.canardpc.com/2805244 smile.gif

This by the way is NOT STABLE!!!! It was hard for me to even get CPU-Z to show 5ghz.

I wasn't going to post anymore here but, it's strange how your temp did not improve. May be try apply thermal paste again?

But I think your chip got potential there under 1.5v and able to run in windows is great news IMO.

You won't have major temp drops unless you use CLP/CLU against the die and ihs

I won't have a major drop yes...but I should have A drop.

CLP for the die and indigo extreme is on it's way for the IHS. I am thinking about either lapping my block or getting a new one along with a new.......well....everything. thumb.gif

Intel's original thermal paste is actually very good. That's why it's hard to beat with normal thermal paste.

Did you clean off all of the glue from the PCB and IHS to make the IHS sit as low as possible on the die? This is what should make it possible to beat Intel's original TIM.

I was also under the impression that Intel's thermal paste was top notch. But yeah, there's not much to it really if you aren't going to apply CLP or CLU on the die, because in the end any thermal paste is only paste.
