Corsair TX 850M vs Seasonic M12II 850 or other

Hi guys, im looking on getting a new power supply thats aimed for QUIETNESS. I am coming from a TR2 RX 850W PSU from Thermaltake and its simply just way too loud on load and idle.

i am looking at these three power supplies:

TX 850M: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139029

M12II 850: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817151108

Will an 850w be enough for an i5-2500k @ 4.8ghz OC - 1.39v with 2 EVGA 670FTW Oc'ed to probably 1.21v both... plan on getting a third 670FTW probably soon....

The Corsair and Seasonic are around the same price, i want the most QUIET PSU between the two, i know they are both great brands with good customer service so im really just stuck between the two....

Thanks in advance for help!

I am open also to other suggestions if you can suggest an even quieter PSU than between the two.

Quietest unit I've ever used: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817121093&Tpk=LZP-850&IsVirtualParent=1

Has a thermal system that controls fan during operation. Fan doesn't rotate until temperature reaches certain point.

Hey, thanks for the suggestion! Can you suggest something under $150, sorry i didnt specify. That looks like a good power supply but $200 is just really out of my budget frown.gif

It's $160 after rebate card--which Kingwin is pretty quick about

The model that comes to mind in the 850w range is Seasonic's new SS-850KM3. It's got Sanyo-Denki's San Ace Silent Fan and a Hybrid Silent Fan Control switch (as evidenced in the picture below).

It's currently $154 shipped @ SuperBiiz w/ promo code JULIA0710...

id go for the rosewill 750 capstone. if you know for certain that you will be going for a tri sli 670 setup, id recommend a better quality/higher efficient psu in the 850+ range like the ocz zx series.

Hi, thanks for the recommendation. That looks really good, i heard that the M12ii Seasonic PSU's are loud? and half say theyre quiet? Are they loud or quieter than the TX850?

Yes, i am completely aware of the search bar on OCN. I made this thread because there are so many options to choose from, and i chose two.... what can you say between the two PSUs i chose? Can you recommend anything under 150?

Thats the thing, im not fully certain ill go tri sli yet... if anything i may just go double for now. Will the 850W 80 plus bronze be okay for what im doing? 2500k at 1.39v + 2 GPU's at 1.21v custom bios. How about customer service, does Rosewill have good customer service compared to Corsair? I really like Corsair's good customer service. Im looking at other 80 plus platinum and gold and theyre well over my budget.... I think i will just have to replace my PSU if i get a third 670 FTW.

Hi, thanks for the suggestions... but in your first thread; the fractal PSU's you reviewed only had 600w (too low) and 1000w (too high) for my budget, and on the second one you reviewed; you mentioned you can only buy in asia? I dont like how the connectors glow up on the Leadex one, looks too rice-y to me.

Can anyone in this thread give me advice on 850W PSU's that are quiet under my budget of $150, thank all for the great suggestions but they are well OVER my budget and i cannot afford them. So if there are no other choices, can anyone suggest to me to pick the Corsair PSU or the Seasonic PSU?

I guess i mentioned i wanted three 670 FTW's and im getting lots of >$150 PSU's.... so how about just TWO video cards and a CPU? Are there no other competition brands with the similar price point of $120-140 against the Corsair TX850m or Seasonic M12ii (besides that other really nice Seasonic that was recommended that was like 20 bucks more)
