All of the following questions made in effort to help were responded too with cryptic responses. It just escalated from there tongue.gif

options really are:

1) Get/rent a static IP from your ISP if they provide that service
2) if they don't do that, change ISP to one that will, then revisit point 1
3) ask your mate which VPN provider he uses for this purpose, you already alluded to him having a solution.

There's not much more that we can suggest than that

this except people in this day and age want your life story before answering your questions, even if they don't need to know all of that. follow this poster's advice or look for a vpn, GOOGLE. for example, i use vpntunnel and it lets me pick and choose what apps i want ran through it or if i just want everything running through it

dick, my thoughts exactly

Now that I've clarified myself in an adequate manner, lets give this another go

Thanks dick for the response, I am google searching vpntunnel at this moment and about to begin a correspondence.

Ill ask you now though while I have a chance, - Do you believe that If using such a VPN on my system, When I run a Java Script application which is seperate from the browser, would my real or my vpn'd ip address be seen?

"Since the game is being run in a Java script, the proxy doesn't support Java. The proxy settings are changed within the web browser itself whereas the game runs outside of the web browser which causes the proxy to fail" - One VPN providers technician

this cant be true for all VPN's right? There must be a JAVA compatible one, am I correct in my thinking?

It's not the VPN that is the problem, it's the software you use to implement it. The cheaper VPNs tend to provide you with some cheap software, which has limitations like you told about. You can usually use any software you like if you provide the proper details.

Wow, I think I just understood the last piece of my puzzle. You are saying that any VPN provider (as long as they have a working ip address that I can connect to), has the ability to provide me with what I need as long as I do my part of the deal, - Configuring the VPN settings correctly.
Is this correct?

My claim, Completely revised since this morning, my knowledge has increased exponentially in this area

*please verify the accuracy of this*
-In Summary, I need an VPN that provides me with an ip address which would be seen as my only IP address by an application like JAVA, and the appropriate software to make this work.

That's about right. You first need a VPN/proxy service that will provide the address to you, then you need software that will route all the JAVA traffic through it.

Some services may only accept their own software, so you might have to stay away from them.

If you are a pro why are you playing an outdated version? I can't find any references anywhere to professional leagues playing outdated versions of runescape.

wait
if you are on a helping website why are you criticizing me?
why can't you rent a VPN and enter it at the router levek, so ALL traffic would go through the VPN.
Would solve the Java problem since your IP would be whatever the VPN gives you.

Least that's how i would think to do it

Don't get mad at the people who try to help, you asked a very weird question that no one understands why you would want it so it's normal for us to question it and you

Be happy you got any help at all

The real strife in all this is the simple truth that this whole field is both relatively unknown and interpreted/translated in different ways by every single user. THAT is what made it difficult for me to ask the question in a simple yet effective manner. Howeverrrrrrrrrrr that has all changed as I have received little bits and pieces of valuable information from some of you and have performed a tons of research on my own. I have found what I am looking for and I am content

How can I delete this Thread?
