OEM Cyberlink Media Suite doesn't play Bluray disc. Why?

Thread Starter
I bought several Bluray combo drives during the days of Windows 7 and the included OEM Cyberlink Media Suites 8/9 which include PowerDVD 9/10 will play bluray movies on the PCs. This includes brands like Sony, Samsung and LG. However, now that I have ungraded to Windows 8, PowerDVD 9/10 will not play any BR movies that I insert into the drive. I fewer months ago it would ask me to update and then on the website Cyberlink ask me to go to the appropriate drive manufacturers'site to update the OEM Cyberlink software. None of the manufacturers'site have download pages for their OEM Cyberlink softwares. Today I re-installed the Media Suite and now PowerDVD 10 tells me "The integrity of CyberLink PowerDVD is is at risk. Check your anti-virus software for malicious activitites or try reinstalling Cyberlink PowerDVD.". Yes, I re-type exactly what the windows dialog box says. The double ïs" is not a mistake!

Same issue with the OEM CyberLink Media Suite 8 from another company.

Note that Cyberlink BD Advisor tells me that my PC is capable of playing BR movies/discs. i5 3570K and ATI 7900 series GPUs.

Do the BR drive manufacturers or CyberLink expect me to upgrade and thus pay for CyberLink's products every time I upgrade my OS?
