Corsair TX 650m with Dual 7970's

Thread Starter
HI Guys,

I'm rocking a i5 3570k @ 4.2 ghz
a single 7970 sapphire vapor X @ 1050 core and 1500 memory
8 gb of 1600mhz corsair RAM
and a Corsair TX 650 modulair as power supply

Since i'm buying a eyefinity setup i would like to add another 7970 sapphire vapor X,
but i'm worried that my 650 watt isn't enough watt for dual 7970

Does anyone know if it is enough?

Thanks for the respond

Wouter

Yes it is enough power as long as you dont overclock your CPU or your video cards

Think that power draw from the wall would be between 550-600 watts

This is from GURU3D:

Measured power consumption for two cards in Crossfire

System in IDLE = 166W
System Wattage with GPU in FULL Stress = 567W
Difference (GPU load) = 401W
Add average IDLE wattage ~6W
Subjective obtained GPU power consumption = ~ 407 Watts

Radeon HD 7970 - On your average system the card requires you to have a 550 Watt power supply unit.
Radeon HD 7970 Crossfire - On your average system the cards require you to have a 750 Watt power supply unit as minimum.

But i would say: YES
