[VC] Inno3D GeForce GTX 780 Boxing Picture & Specifications Confirmed? - Page 32

Except they needed to do those tweaks so they could learn from them.  Without mass producing 3D transistors, for instance, they wouldn't know how to optimize their use/manufacture.

Sounds like too much trouble for me. Be better off just sticking with them until something is faster...

I understand! It really does suck that Nvidia will release a card with 90% of the performance of a titan at $300 lower cost! Been there and done that!

I paid $750 total for my 680's!

I'm thinking about selling my 680 lightning while they still have some value... The only thing that bothers me is that I'd be running on onboard video until I get a 780.. I've never tried buying a video card on launch day.. how realistic is it for me to get one before they're all sold out on newegg?

Super-easy with the right tools. I've not failed to get one yet for a good number of years now, or any other hot item I've gone for thumb.gif. I'd hurry on selling your card though if you're going to, they're already selling OC versions for sub-$400 pricing on newegg/tigerdirect/amazon. Personally I was gaming on a backup card (9600 GSO 384mb) for a little while, but then I grabbed a GTX 650 Ti Boost on a hot deal that is going into a rig at a relative's soon... it's tiding me over until the 780 launches biggrin.gif.

EDIT: I'm actually quite impressed with the little card... it runs this at ~50fps+ average 95% of the match with 2560x1440 resolution (120hz):

That's at 1150mhz core (+50 over stock for this MSI OC card) and =200mem... 53% fan (non-reference MSI cooler) is very very quiet still and keeps it at 60c/below even after long sessions. I'll end up with $100 out-of-pocket after rebate for it, though it's destined as I said for another rig which'll run at 1680x1050. The game looks surprisingly good.

With the prices of new 680s dipping below $400, I think you've missed your chance on selling your cards. The market is already repricing them based on the 780, at least on a site like this one. You might still get lucky on eBay, I guess.

Yup. 680's are in a downward spiral thanks to the 780
