system crashes due to scsi??

I put a couple of scsi drives in my rig the other day only to find they were dud. So they got removed along with the controller card. But since my system has been quite right. I've had a couple of system crashes and all it was doing was playing music and folding. I've also had stalls in FEAR EP. It hangs and i alt-tab or ctrl-alt-del to come out of it, then maximize it again and its fine. I had it crash during the loading of my desktop earlier.

My rigs never done this and the only thing to have changed is the scsi drives going in and out. Any ideas wat has happened here? I'm thinkin it might need a reformat, which isn't a problem really as i was planning on doing one soon anyway.

i never installed any drivers. I just put in the card and the drives, hit the power and just after POST i got a BIOS screen for the scsi card. everything for setting it up was in there.
