[Coolaler] Core I7 4770K needing 1.596v for 5Ghz? - Page 3

Even if its not real yet we´re getting closer to true numbers. Its more realistic as the "5ghz on 0,9V".
I would say it overclocks like SB / IB. Nothing really amazing. But lets wait for a good review.

I was hoping for a upgrade from my 2500k, but looks like I can just by a better cooler and OC more instead.

Yea, I am eyeballing the $229 3770K right now, because it is eyeballing me. Though, being perfectly honest here, I just upgraded to a Z77 MPower, pretty sure the wife would shoot me if I sold it and my 2500K just to get a 4770K.

I figured if I spent the few bucks and got the 3770K, I would be good a generation or two......

Im thinking about just jumping on a 3570K and Z77 Extreme 6 till I can get a 4670K for 169.99 at MC lachen.gif

Difference is what 5%?

It would be better if Intel would come out with a new chip every 2 years and have it be a leap in performance over the older one rather than every year with just a small step. I skipped IB to wait for Haswell, but now it is looking like IB is the way to go for the money. Then wait for Skylake to upgrade again.

Hm ok, cool thing. So every hassy on earth will need that voltage tongue.gif
Comon gents. Give the chip a chance - once you have it you can do your own suicide runs and find out what your chip will need. rolleyes.gif

Granted maybe it is an issue with the early chips or maybe the mobo bios still needs tweaking, who knows. I am willing to give it a chance and see who on this board takes the plung and starts OC'ing them and using proper voltage tests before making a final decision.

Considering we've also seen screenshots showing 5 GHz overclocks with less than 1V, I'm thinking maybe it's best if everyone cools their heels on Haswell's overclocking ability.  Obviously there are some issues reading the voltages.
