The AMD official meeting in Toronto Kaveri APU Run Devil May Cry: DMC situation looks the Kaveri will continue to use the FM2 socket, but it is also possible to use the FM2 + slots, because Kaveri voltage design changed a lot.

Just as I thought, Kaveri and FM2+ will be compatible with FM2 and it will be like the AM2/AM2+ setup!

not entirely. but it will be the beginning of it so to speak. They are incorporating hUMA which is the unification of system memory between gpu and cpu.

They are using HSA. One of the features is allowing plain C++ operation on the GPU without special hacks (OpenCL) or heavy modification (CUDA).

Well can't wait for top of the line Kaveri:
3 modules/6 cores(Steamroller)
GDDR5M/DDR4 support
Radeon HD 7750-7790 GPU?!
Price: 180-250$

With PS4 having HSA/hUMA, can't wait biggrin.gif

In a single chip? Holy jeebus I would buy one in a heartbeat.

Neither can I man, neither can I...

I'm hoping they make a 65W TDP version of the 3-module chip... I want one so bad inside my AIO!!!
Although I'd say the GPU will be in line with the 7750 more than the 7790... That's quite the horsepower still!

Wow. If that really happens I'll drop the cash for that in a heartbeat.

Very interesting. If they can keep the retail price south of $200, they will have struck gold.
