[PlayStation Blog] Gran Turismo 6 Unveiled, Out This Holiday On PS3 - Page 2

It's like GT5 all over again. Zero actual gameplay before launch. Just pre rendered screens and touched up video.

That or these are PS4 screens.

They lost me at DLC. They did not say if it was going to be paid or free DLC but I would be very surprised if they would be free.

Sounds like you've never played GT5. Here's a hint: the replays are rendered in real-time with the in-game graphics engine. thumb.gif

I have played GT5 for 20+ hours. I could also care less about some replays... The actual gameplay situations in GT5 look quite horrible. Tons of low poly, 2d, sprite environments, all shadows are jaggier than with my age old ahtlon rig back in 2006, the level of detail is quite low.

All in all just about the only thing it has going for it is the amount of cars and tracks. Graphically it's a mess.

Well, it's got a new physics engine, new aerodynamics, new tyre/suspension models etc...

In what is meant to be a driving simulator... that's quite a *big* change...

That or these are PS4 screens.

Looks a lot like the GT5 screenshots, but a bit nicer.

I suspect these are taken direct from GT5 reply/SS editor and not rendered.

Well, new cars come out, tracks get updated etc... you can't do it all for free.

Also, you don't have to pay for these cars, if you're happy with the 1200 in game... then stick to that and don't spoil it for others who do want the updates smile.gif

It's a car racing game, not a tech demo. They pushed the PS3 very hard.

Also, look at a lot of PC race sims... e.g. Race07, great game with a huuuuuuuuuuuge modding base and the graphics are cack.

It's obvious people don't buy these games just for the graphics wink.gif

Wow, I didn't say anything about how good or bad the graphics are. I was just pointing out that the GT6 trailer, which clearly is comprised of replay scenes, isn't any different graphically from GT5 besides a few extra leaf "particles." The true nature of your original comment is showing quite clearly now. How embarassing rolleyes.gif

The GT series is a primary reason I bought the PS3. Needless to say, I'll be picking this up.

I love the challenge of getting all gold medals in the license tests, among other things obviously.

Which is why my original comment was about how there isn't any gameplay footage available. Replays aren't gameplay.

I know graphics aren't everything. Just commenting on polyphony's way of advertising that ticks me off sometimes. Same reason why I don't like cinematic trailers etc.
