Eh me and you both. That's like asking Microsoft to completely re write their os. Maybe one day...

Who cares if it's called GT6 or GT5 Spec 3... consider the content and gameplay, not the significance of the name.

I for one am excited to see the new physics at work smile.gif

They announced Forza 5 on the new Xbox One - I think it's hard for anyone to get excited for GT6 considering that, at least me, personally.

I had both Forza and GT5 on Xbox and PS3... Forza never really did it for me. There wasn't the same element of challenge nor progression... Forza kind of felt like you were just racing a series of disparate events, rather than GT5 where you build from amateur to professional.

Also, with GT I for one enjoyed when you had no cash, fitting aftermarket parts to a Nissan Sunny just to compete in the Sunday Cup... whereas Forza always seemed to gift you high performance cars from the start making it easy.

That's my opinion anyway.

All I want, all I've EVER wanted from GT was REALISTIC ENGINE SOUNDS!!! I mean seriously?! Can we get some REAL SOUNDING ENGINES?! Need for Speed nails it everytime, Forza has good sounds...COME ON!!!!!

I still remember NFS Underground and the 240sx and thinking...that sounds JUST like my 240sx? Awesome!

GT does have good engine sounds, and that's the problem with it. They only use engine sounds and not a combination of engine and exhaust sounds.

When I used to race in real life I always wore a full-face SA-rated helmet. You can barely hear anything while racing with one of those. The way I look at it, the muffled sounds of GT5 are like that.

Problem is they sound muffled and terrible on the outside of the cars too, unless they're simulating everyone in the crowd wearing a helmet + ear plugs I think their sounds could really use some improvement. Wonder if they can return to the glory days of GT with this title, I played a ton of GT3 last year and really enjoyed it. It's not realistic but at least the cars handle in a decent enough manner, GT5 always felt like driving on ice.

Yes that is what I meant. I am sorry. Engine sounds are OK, but we need to hear exhaust.

I've done my fair share of AutoX with a helmet and yes, things are muffled a bit, but you still hear your exhaust.

That is another issue with GT in general, why do they purposely make every car have 50/50 brake balance? Of course you are going to oversteer since the rear will lock up as the weight transfers to the front and there is so much bias on the rear. I hate that you have to change it from default just to get a car stop like it should.

I bought a PS3 just for GT5, too. Except I got the PS3 near launch thinking GT5 would be released, you know, less than four years later. Too bad I was wrong but as you said the PS3 is great for blu-rays and streaming stuff.

Forza does the same thing and it's just as annoying, most of the cars seem to require a lot of tweaking to get them to handle like they do in reality (I've owned several of the cars in the game) but I think Forza does a better job of making you feel like you're driving the real car (it definitely nails the sounds) whereas Gran Turismo tries so hard to model the physics of the car that they forget that most of us play by sitting on a couch with a controller. It's pretty hard to be precise with a dual shock 3 and I don't usually feel like pulling my Fanatec wheel out of the closet.

The biggest issue with Gran Turismo by a country mile is the awful car sounds. I can't think of ANYTHING I've played in the past decade that sounds as terrible as GT5 except maybe GT4, it's almost like they've never heard most of these cars in real life. The E92 M3 is one of the worst examples, it sounds like someone humming into a microphone. I used to have one of those and trust me, the roar of that V8 is one of the most dominant parts of the experience of being in that car.

The trailers they've released so far have music playing so you can't hear the cars and this gameplay video is very disappointing. It's appalling to me because every other aspect of Gran Turismo is taken so seriously, from the graphics to the physics to the tuning, so I don't see how they fail so hard at this critical part of any driving game, sounds are more important than graphics if you ask me (especially when GT5 already looked so great).
