The true nature of your original comment is showing quite clearly now. How embarassing rolleyes.gif

He does that a lot, has to be his way or the highway.

I would love to see Porsche in GT6. But it seems unlikely.

A good excuse to finally get around to making a stand for my steering wheel/pedals.

I'm not talking about going 45mph on the street. Go to a safe location (preferably a track), let go of the steering wheel and slam the brakes. A car with ABS should hold a steady line. A car without ABS will not hold a straight line.

This. I have never been in a car which pulled to one direction when the brakes were slammed on. Except one car (Volvo 850R), but that was fixed by fitting new discs and brake pads.

Like I said above. A game that simulates this perfectly (with the cheesiest name ever) would be a game called Tokyo Xtreme Racer Drift 2. The brake and physics felt spot on w/ a wheel of course. Doing an uphill run felt very realistic in how the car reacts against gravity. You could even shift the torque band, and even that felt realistic as to where the power started to fall off.

I kinda hope GT6 introduces more pack racing, I do tend to miss that. Whilst arcadey, the original GRID did pack racing so well. Exciting, wheel to wheel combat tongue.gif It doesn't even have to be fast, standard touring cars or something like Formula Ford can give awesome experiences.

In fact, some of my best racing memories are on GT Legends. Used to love that game!!!

Not thinking of torque steer at all. But since you mentioned it, the GT series lacks this as well. Get a 500+HP FWD car, rev it to the limiter and let off the brake. You'll take off spinning the tires in a perfect straight line. Completely unrealistic.

- No engine customization at all. As in ECU fuel / timing maps, or even little things like cams or bumping compression ratio. *Along the lines of shifting the power band to your driving style, or track*
- Engine swapping, or dare I say actual engine damage?
- Lazy Physics. Example: Slamming on the brakes in a real car = the car will pull to one direction. Slam the brakes in GT and you go in a nice straight line.
- Body modification, as in actual aerodynamic upgrades (not cheesy add-ons, and not just a stupid looking wing).
- And the biggest let down of all.... THE SOUND!

The first 4 games could get away without the above, but after 5 games we need some added features and more options.

GT5 has both those, most "stupiding looking wing"s are the most effective at minimizing drag while providing down-force... do you even race?

My mistake, GT5 did have a small amount of tuning. Nothing really innovative tho, and somewhat lack luster. By stupid looking wings, I'm referring to just a generic wing with no adjustments to be made. A "real" wing will have the ability to change the angle and or height to get the desired affect. Again, its just too simplistic IMO.

As far as if I race, yes. Am I a professional, no. It's just an expensive hobby tongue.gif

I was very disappointed with gran turimso 5. frown.gif i have owned games 1 to 5 and GT1 got me into sim racing on the pc. Hopefully they really do overhaul the physics engine and tire modeling. frown.gif AND RELEASE A FREE DEMO BEFORE GAME LAUNCH!!

Didn't GT 4 come out at the end of the PS2 life cycle? I'll do fine.

^^^ If you cared to play the game for more than than an hour, you may have realized that every car has ABS turned on by default (for casuals), and you can turn it off or adjust it within a range. Also, if you have one of those "stupid looking wings" you can adjust it as well, along with a hell of a lot more. I also used to race in real life, and GT5 is my go-to sim with the G25/G27 of course.

I can see myself buying a PS3 just for this.

Now, just waiting for the prices to fall...

I've never been a console guy but then again I've never been able to resist a GT game.

Why not, lol, I bought my original PS3 at launch just for GT5 (4 years later of course)! Of course I've since realized that it actually also has a lot of uses as a cheap HTPC for streaming, Netflix/Amazon Prime etc...
