No they dont make the best PSU´s the ripple on the Seasonic Platinum is not very good compare to the new Super Flower Leadex

Its just that eveyone knows Seasonic and is traped inside their own little world so they cant look around and follow the times

Anyone ever hear of Super Flower / FSP / Delta or ATNG they can and have made units just as good as Seasonic

So yes i got somnething against Seasonic they are overrated overhyped and overblown

I appreciate the enthusiastic discussion but would rather see more suggestions that would help myself and others with similar power and noise requirements. I'm no brand loyalist and I'd rather not see it in my topics. thumb.gif

sorry but i will disagree
i can make my own cables. size them the size i want. and not have to care about hiding the excess....

NZXT Hale90 V2 a brand new custom platform made just for NZXT by FSP

Rosewill Capstone another Golden Green rebrand

Silverstone Strider Gold & Gold Evolution

Can you find any of these?

Finally had the chance to look at these.

The NZXT units were the most interesting, but unfortunately are the loudest in terms of fan noise. At $190 for the 850W version, I'd also have to factor in the cost of a replacement fan to lower the noise levels and that puts it more expensive than the significantly quieter Seasonic and Corsair rebrands. Sucks but it is what it is.

The first four units are all mostly modular with only the 24pin hard-cabled in. Looks like the Lepa and Enermax are fairly quiet, but still behind Seasonic and Corsair in that area. I've never heard of a loud Super Flower unit so its only detracting point is that one nonmodular cable.

Rosewill is a no because of no modularity.

Silverstone Strider Gold Evo looks nice, but again would require a fan replacement to get where I want (I'm familiar with air penetrators and 'quiet fans' they are not). However, it's $160 for the 850W version, and even a $25 fan with shipping (say, Noiseblocker Multiframe) would put it cheaper than the Seasonic 860 Plat unit. I'll have to seriously consider this one...

Great list though, thanks for sharing it.

On modularity

The main reason that I'm big on this, especially for this current build, is because I'm putting a full-sized PSU into a very small case, specifically a custom version of this. Internal dims should be about the same as the Bitfenix Prodigy. Many of the cables will need to be customized to be very short; storage drives will be mere inches from the PSU and the motherboard only a little further. If a PSU is quiet enough, in the right price range, and has only one cable that needs work to shorten then I can accept that. If the unit is pushing the same price as the fully modular units, or pushes that price with a fan upgrade assuming the stock fan isn't quiet enough, then it's difficult to justify the added cost when I'm already going to be getting some custom cables to meet my particular case.

Only option i did not list is because one its not out yet and two its only in 1000 watts to start with

Am talking about the brand new EVGA SuperNova G2 based on the brand new Super Flower Leadex

If that and all the other is not right for you just go with what is right for you

At least you can be proud and say you looked at everything and not be a lazy
