k i know i have to lower the multi and up the fsb and possibly tighten the ram timming and/or underclock the ram.

needless to say i have no idea *** im doing here.

im at 2080 right now and i know it can do more.

now i know my psu BLOWS but i should still be able to get to at least 2.2?

Asking or offering REPs is not allowed.
The first thing you need to do is get friendly with your BIOS. Terma are a bit different with different BIOS makers.
You can go in and poke around all you like, just don't"Exit and Save" untill your sure what your changing.

There are several decent overclocking guides in the FAQ's here. Basically you want to underclock your RAM to find the max FSB for your CPU, then lower your CPU multi and find the max FSB on your RAM. Looking at those two maximums you can get an idea if you'll need to use a RAM divider or loosen up your timings.

FSB = Front Side Bus

Use a RAM divider to lower your RAM speeds - don't start fiddling with RAM timings if you don't know what your doing (you'd want to loosen them, not tighten them to get higher speeds anyway )

ok usually on the asus boards youll have advanced options or something like that, did you see anything that had a list of numbers from like 100 to 400 in 1 or 2 incrememnts or something like that, that basically is your fsb,

your htt multi which i think you found should have options of like x1,x2,x3,x4,x5 or 1000,800,600... you need to set this one to either x3 or 600 which ever is available

you will also prob have a cpu multi which will be x9 x8 x7 x6 x5 x4 and that is what your fsb is multiplied by, with your 3800 you want the highest one of these i think its 9 if i remember right,

you ram i dont know not to experience with that stuff, try it at the lowest divider first just to see how high your cpu can go for now, they should be in increments or like ddr400, ddr333,ddr266 or something like that i cant rmemeber on that asus board

hey is this am2 or 939 by the way

edit: nvm its am2 right, ok i have the m2n-e and it has the same chipset so should have roughly the same bios if your still having problems i can go on that comp and check out the bios for ya
