Need help oc'ing vishra and ram

Thread Starter
I just bought this computer and have been messing with autotune on the bios got the black screen a few times and think its the ram as when I put it on auto it goes to 800mhz the manual says u may need to manualy set it and i have no idea. Point black is autotune worse the manual if so where can I find other peoples known settings.
FYI cpu z states
My questions are
1.Is auto tune on bios good for chip at 4.2-4.4
2.should i keep ram on auto or try 10-10-10-24 or another reccomended setting
3. does my gpu need an oc if its oc'd version and do i need to up the power in catylist if so.

p.s. I have little experance as my last build was over 10 years ago. and fyi the cpu-z states dram@800mhz is that 1600mhz cause u double it or is what.

I wouldn't bother with autotune.
Just set the RAM to the voltage, speed and timings that the sticks are rated for.

Once you have that stable, the easiest way to start testing limits is to begin at your CPU with multiplier overclocking.

Got a 8320 the other day saw a thread yesterday for piledriver/ bulldozer overclock guide. Autotune doesn't normally work with out some tweaking and then is always unstable. I did find out one thing though. The 8320 doesn't like for the northbridge to be starved of current. But because of the high multi doesn't take long to get the NB to high. Tried to keep mine around 2400 and the ram was a lil tricky. Trying to find thread again though.

Hi. AMD uses a NB/RAM ratio of 2xbase RAM speed on FX chips. If you can find stability in anything over 2400, you have a great chip.

In general, CPU OC goes like
1. Raise multi x0.5. Save and exit.
2. Stress test for 10 min. Repeat step 1.
Do that until you crash.
3.BIOS, raise CPU voltage one step. Save and exit.
4. Stress test for 10 min.
Repeat step 1 and 2 until you crash again. Repeat step 3.
That's pretty much it.
Things to keep in mind.
1. Max 8320 voltage. 1.5v (CPU)
2. Max CPU temps 50-55*C during stress testing.
3. Use OCCT or IBT to stress. Prime 95 is known to have various problems with FX chips.
BTW, which mobo do you have. And what PSU?
