Broken Laptop need advice

Thread Starter
i was giving this laptop off a friend at doesn't want to pay to get it fixed so obviously i wasn't going to say no. As you can see from the pictures the touchscreen is gone the side of the case it broken and part of the motherboard is missing but surprisingly the machine turns on and i tested it through HDMI and everything works just fine in terms of connecting to wifi.

Now i was considering buying a new screen i would also have to buy a new bezel but without the touch. Now two or three people have suggested buying a new case and just put the motherboard and other stuff in it and see if that works.

I was hoping i could get advice on what case would work or some advice on what to do with the laptop is it worth fixing also i know nothing about buying laptop cases.

Here are the pictures

As you can see the touchscreen is completely shattered. In the top corners the bezel is also cracked and missing some plastic

Closeup of the screen

This is the part of the motherboard that's cracked it's basically the headphone jack and the SDcard slot

It's an Acer aspire 5745pg. It's got an i3 and and nvidia 320m with 4gb ram

You'd still need another LCD if you bought a new case and it would likely have to be the same exact case as laptop cases are very model specific. If you can even buy an OEM case it wouldn't probably be overpriced. Also, laptop internals can be very tricky to work on and remove. Unless you want to use this with an external monitor you might as well through it out.
