Highly exaggerated story.

At least their high end PCs wouldn't need water cooling.

i am not sure whether to believe it, besides if he is thq boss then is he actually confessing that while he was in charge his company was contracting a company which was mistreating their employees?
also dont know how bad can power outages be, i mean if they are in building that is being reconstructed it can happen naturally from time to time. also what supercomputers you need for development these days? just pay when it arrives and all risk is at vendor side.

i think its just emo story. i live in slovakia and yeah many people in west think we dont have hot water or tv, but when they come here they see that every second car is a german premium brand and that people outside of cities have large brick 2-3 story houses. (the car thingie is that during day normal people work so all these premium brand cars belong to upper class who have others to work for them tongue.gif )

on other note: I remember a story from old colleague of mine who came to install some telecommunication equipment to Ukraine, and the entire content of truck was stolen while they were eating out. in evening they came to customer and told him that everything was stolen and he said, dont worry lets go eat. when they came back he told them to open the truck. everything was again in back truck smile.gif

i have worked in large public companies in the richest parts of the west where the conditions were actually a lot worse ! seriously, cramped, Zero creature comforts, horrid chairs and not even allowed your own desktop wallpaper redface.gif

this is actually more about a story of how rich the games industry actually is where by THQ employees sit on golden toilet seats and wipe their arses with your game receipts

Wasn't there a dev video where someone from THQ or 4A was saying that the budget for Last Light was going to be comparable to a AAA game or something, because no one really cared about the first one, so they didn't give it any money? Wonder what happened to that lol.

This is going to be everyone's story soon. Profits trump all, even morals and reality.

While the working conditions were obviously exaggerated, I wonder what the actual budget was. If it really was 10% of what other big games get (i.e. 6-10 million), then it's rather insane what they pulled off with that little money; imagine if they had a full, proper budget - and no THQ going "Co-op! MP!"

When I first read the article I envisioned rooms that looked similar to run down buildings in Metro. Broken windows, torn up wallpaper on the walls, busted up cement floors, run down tables and old rusty chairs. Bit disappointed it wasn't like that to be honest because that would have made them a hundred times more badass.

Good side is that they saved on artwork, no need to draw it when it's around you..
